- Kat Caps Coppell with Qual by Don Gonzalez Jan 14, 2013Katia Ramirez broke to semi-finals in LD Debate at the Coppell Classic this weekend. By doing so, she qualified to TFA State. This is Katia's first time qualifying to the TFA State tournament and she is the first JBS Law Magnet LD Debater to qualify to state this year.

- Garcia-Okere GOing to State! by Don Gonzalez Nov 19, 2012This Saturday, the JBS Law Magnet debate team competed at the Arlington High School Tournament . In novice Lincoln-Douglas debate, Dino De La O reached the quarterfinal round, placing 5th overall. In Varsity Lincoln-Douglas debate, Kimberly Pesina reached semifinals, which means she finished 3rd out of 48 competitors! By reaching semis, she earned 4 points toward qualifying for the State Championship. Students need a total of 12 points to qualify. In Varsity CX debate, Ivan Garcia and Seneca Okere won the tournament and, in doing so, finished their qualification to the State Championship! Ivan and Seneca are the first members to qualify to TFA State this year.

- Barefoot Debaters Dominate DUDA by Don Gonzalez Oct 5, 2012The Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet Debate Team had 24 different teams competing at the first Dallas Urban Debate Alliance debate tournament sponsored by Strasberger and Price.
